Do you have a cleanout??

What is a cleanout? Well in most modern homes, there is a mainline cleanout that is built, in order for a plumber to be able to sufficiently clear the line whenever you have a major backup. Most people are not sure if they have one or not. They are usually placed outside directly behind the kitchen sink or in the front yard. These are very important to have. If you have an older home, sometimes the cleanout is only accessible through the roof, but with todays CAL/OSHA codes plumbers are not allowed to go up on the roof to snake the mainline because of the dangers of doing so. If you are unaware if you have one, look around your house, it looks like a approximately 2" round hole with a cap on it.

If you do not have one, it is important to have one installed because in the long run, it will save you money. Not having a cleanout, means that a plumber will have to find an alternative way of accessing it to clear the line. This usually includes pulling a toilet or two, which is a cost in and of itself. By installing a mainline cleanout, you are allowing better access to the line and an ability for the plumber to clear it thoroughly and prevent an future backups.

We are an honest, reliable, and affordable company that really wants the best for all our customers. If you have any quesitions on what a cleanout is or want an estimate on how much it would be to install one. Give us a call and we would be happy to help you out.

Helpful plumbing

Pulled and reset toilet with new wax ring.  *Helpful hint: if you even notice that when you flush, sometimes it looks like there is water at the base of the toilet? Well this is 99% an indication that you may need a new wax ring because the seal is no longer doing what it is supposed to be doing. This is a quick and easy fix.

Plumbing and selling your home

Looking to sell your home? Plumbing makes up 95% of your home...When selling your property you need to ensure that all the plumbing is working and up to code before you can put it on the market. It needs to pass an inspection. We can come in and assess all your plumbing and provide you a list of all the items that will need to be taken care of. Many people ignore their plumbing, a lot of the reason is they don't either know about the entirety of their plumbing besides the basics or they just simply would rather spend their money elsewhere. I would rather spend money on anything other than plumbing as well, but it is very important to maintain your plumbing and pay for what is needed. If you leave it to the last minute or until your issue becomes a huge problem, it will end up costing you more in the long run and be a lot more stressful.
