Well this is 99% an indication that you may need a new wax ring because the seal is no longer doing what it is supposed to be doing. This is a quick and easy fix. 

What is a cleanout? Well in most modern homes, there is a mainline cleanout that is built, in order for a plumber to be able to sufficiently clear the line whenever you have a major backup. Most people are not sure if they have one or not. They are usually placed outside directly behind the kitchen sink or in the front yard. These are very important to have. If you have an older home, sometimes the cleanout is only accessible through the roof, but with todays CAL/OSHA codes plumbers are not allowed to go up on the roof to snake the mainline because of the dangers of doing so. Recently we have been recieving many calls from customers who are dealing with constant mainline backups; those that we come across are in large part to roots.   If you have a large tree in front of your house, you are prone to getting continuous backups. There was a kitchen sink stoppage. The water you see in the beginning coming out of the drain and towards the end of the video there is no water coming out. The drain was cleared of the stoppage and we left another customer happy.

first job was a backed up toilet. It was clogged due to a tube of toothpaste being thrown down the toilet by one of the customers children, it was removed and the toilet was cleared. The second job was the installation of a new bathroom sink, faucet, and toilet

Got a call from a client about their shower/tub draining slow. Our technician went out and ran an auger down the drain to try and clear the stoppage. The drain was cleared.

Mainline replacement

We had a late night call for a mainline backup. This was caused by roots infesting the line. For this certian customer, they did not have a cleanout available to clear the line, so the toilet was pulled to try and clear the line. The line was cleared, but will likely stop up again beacause of the roots. For anyone that does not have a cleanout installed, it does make it more difficult to have things cleared. With houses that have large trees in front of their homes, there comes problems. Specifically with your drains. When there is a large tree in front of your house you are prone to getting backups more often then those who do not have large trees in front of their homes. The roots from the tree get into your drains and cause back ups. The picture above is of a water pressure gage. you can purchase this at any hardware store for around $10. The number at which the arrow is pointing is NOT what you want your water pressure to be. This is very dangerous and can cause big problems for you if your water pressure is this high. Invest in one of these or call and make an appointment with us and we can check it for you and walk through your options if indeed your pressure is too high.

Remember these little things and it will save you a lot of money and headache in the future: -Ladies, do not discard your feminine products down the toilet, they only build up and cause a blockage in your drain. In addition, try and keep your hair out of the sink and shower drains as much as you can. By doing this you will be less likely to have a backed up drain. -It is recommended to have your drains maintenance at least every 6 months to ensure lines are clear and things are going smoothly. Again, by doing this it will prevent any large backups or problems from occurring. Thus, saving you money. -Remember, things rust and get old over time. It is recommended to have these items switched out and renewed. It is very important to pay attention to the little things in your home. Recently we had a client who called us in a panic because she had just arrived home to find her entire bottom floor of her house flooded. When our plumber arrived, he searched to find the source of the problem. Turns out it was a burst angle stop due to high water pressure in her home.
